PANASONIC RX-C100 One Of the TOP Boxes!??!?!

Just wanted to find out from the fellow BB lovers if the Panasonic RX-C100 can be considered one of the TOP HOLLY GRAIL BOXES from the early 1980's

Might be able to my hands one one that has had one owner who took extremely good care of it. It was serviced and cleaned in 2000, with work done on the cassette deck.

A HEAVY MONSTER @30LBS WO 10D Batteries!

Do not want to have to outlay 500$+ for the M-90 but want to know how close the RX-C100 comes to it!

I don't have that particular model, but from what I know - it's really good! As far as grail status - I can be wrong, but I think it's boomboxes like Sharp GF-777 or JVC M90 or Panasonic RX-5350 that are considered *grails* - usually 1-piece boxes. On the other hand, everybody has their personal grails - regardless of brand and model, so if that is something you really like - then who cares if others consider it a grail or not

even though its a great 3 piece box it still fall short to the m90 ,,but if thats the only box you have its still a great box,, me i wish i had one maybe one day so if you have it enjoy it....

It's a great three piecer. But M90 class.....not really. Just enjoy it, then compare to your M90 when you get one.

good tuner
good cassette deck

bass woofers foam surround tends to rot after 20 some years of use or just sitting around ,they are easy and cheap to re foam.


not an m90 but indeed one of the nicest 3 piece boxes around ,might not be the best but can kick the ass a lot of nice boxes just not all of them .

Never had the RX-C100 but from everything I've ever heard I think JVC Floyd is right on.
I wouldn't turn one away if the price was good and it sounds like you have the line on a nice, good luck and let us know what happens.

Hey thank you for the advise on the speakers! Not so hard to re-foam I see! the M-90 is nicer BUT over $500.00 for a good one, even then it might need work on the cassette deck!

I was all set to get the Panasonic RX-C-100 Boombox! The foam had been replaced and the belts as well! IT was a ONE OWNER BEAUTY!

In the last 5 Seconds I was OUTBID! I had typed in a higher amount and was all set to just CLICK in the higher $$$

Of course THE PAGE DID NOT RESPOND AND I LOST OUT BY ONE SHITTY DOLLAR!

QUITE UPSET NOW!

Anyone on the site have one that they want to sell?!?!?!

How is the foam in the speakers ? I know the foam goes bad! How about belts all original or new belts put in?

That goes for me too. But I remember it was in July when I got it just in time for my birthday and man what a birthday gift, But it gets better, Now for Christmas I got me an Aiwa 880 now that is Christmas in my ears
