I've noticed that the RX-5085 is kind of a "below the radar" favorite because a lot of you guys have one. Are they really that good? How do they compare with the RX-5150?

I would say comparison is pretty good but 5085 craps out sooner on volume. Just my opinion ;-). But it is a gorgeous box with separate bass and treble... that is for sure :-)

I agree. I like the lavender strip and the green-tinted dial window. It looks really high class.

I located the missing switch knob which was on the garage floor. My Wife almost parked Our car on top of it :-O . Now, She's even more Purdyful :-D Thanks Fellas. This one is noticably heavier than My old Panny 5050. The sound is very balanced and I like that classic Panasonic 'Ambience' sound  I forgot to post a pic of My Earth,Wind & Fire vintage poster with a 5085 (Thanks Frank)

No Doubt about it. That panasonic ambience just bounces out one of the most spacial 3-D effects IMO. (at least my 5150 is that way)..

Nice box!

Nice one FUZZ, looks great! Is that the same size as the 5150?

Classy design for sure

It's a bit longer but also a bit shorter than 5150 ;-)

Bad Boy Bill

OK, basically, a totally different case.

The 5085 jumps into the "Classy Blaster" category with the white speakers. Like the 20/20, all silver and chrome. The 8085 add's color and the LED Rocks! Nice box and a NICE version of one right there

Yep totally different but 2 very cool looking and even sounding mid size boomers. I traded my rare 5150L a while ago but picked up this actually nicer looking AKA Quasar GX3642
