Hi guys. I picked up a Panasonic RX-7000. It came with the original sales receipt from 1981. It also came with the dandy wired remote control. Did the RD-9840 remote come with the RX-7000 or was it universal for all Panasonic boxes?
I think you might be the only person in the world with that remote I mean it's a rare piece cuz I've never seen one I'm not an expert on these Panasonic's but I've seen enough of them but I've never seen a remote with one.
I thought it would have been included with the Rx-7000. The reason is because I have the original sales receipt for this box from 1981. The receipt doesn't mention the remote at all which is why I thought it was included.
As I already PMed you it was an option for both RX-7000 and RX-7200.
I've seen it on ebay so there are at least two in the world It only controls tape deck dissapointing in a way.

Ahhh! I just checked our PM's. I didnt know there was 2 pages. That comment was on the second page. Thats weird how a PM thread has multiple pages instead of putting the most recent PM on the top. Im still learning how this site works.
The remotes on most boxes seem to go missing over the years. The fact that this remote is corded and only controls the deck may be the reason they weren't often used or valued.
It is always nice to have an accessory like that for collecting purposes but it's not something I'd personally use very often.
A wireless remote like that for the more modern RX-DT680 that controls every function would be a much more useful piece of kit.
