Hi.
I got hold of a Panasonic 5600 from the Swedish blocket. It is like Ebay.

This was a boombox i had when i was 15 back in the eighties. However it was not in good shape. But i still bought it because its a rare find.

There are many small defects that are impossible to fix, like burn marks on buttons and scratchy aluminium trim.

But one thing i just had to fix was the large crack in the tuner glass.
So i got a local plastic company to make a copy and it turned out perfect. Its identic in all details and fits perfectly.
It costed 100 dollars but it was worth it.

After restoring the pots and circuit boards it sounds awsome. This is a high quality sounding machine at low to medium volume.

Wow, $100 for piece of plexiglass...
For me this is expensive, but more important is looks of this Panasonic now - just perfect...

Money well spent because now the boom box is worth $100 more with the plexiglass tuner window.

I always love this model boombox bigger than the smaller Panasonic like the 5150 and 5250.
