Hi,I'm ready to paint my GF-9494 woofers and I got the Krylon Fusion
Dover White 2422 paint.
I need to ask some members here how far away to hold the can and
how long to spray.

I just want to do a good job.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated,my 9494 has been in parts for
months!! :-O
Thanks. :-)

I usually hold the can about 12 to 15 inches away - any closer and the paint might go on too thick. You don't really want a heavy coat of paint. Go for something like a nice, even dusting of paint. Just make sure that the speakers have been cleaned of all dirt, dust, hair, etc. beforehand. ;-) Be sure and take some before and after pics.

:agree: with bobby just want to dust the paper very very light also i found using a vitimin bottle or some sought of plastic cap to protect the chrome cap works the best and also paint from all sides so its even ....meaning turn the speaker

I Am Legend
Ford uses fabric spray instead of actual paint --to insure a lighter coat -
i used his = worked great

The fabric spray paint you can find it in auto parts store.

It worked great on my M-90 woofers to this day the woofers look & sound great.

Now now!! :nonono:
Be nice to Ira!!

Operation successful!!!
I used a cap off my Lawry's seasoning,was a perfect fit!!
I did go from different angles and turned speaker a bit.
Very happy with how they came out!
Nice a creamy white-just like original.

I now have it back together but still need belts for the deck and a idler
wheel.
FF's & Rew. Fine but in play it won't advance because the idler tire
is so worn that it won't rub up against the play/ff wheel.

Just need a idler tire and a spring, mines wore out from the old extra
9191 deck I have.plus it's slightly smaller in diameter.
What I need is a idler tire wheel that rubs up against the capstan.
Yes that's re-tubed also.

I'm so close-1 antenna and these cassette parts and it's a go!
I will take photos tomorrow of my project it it's current stage.
Looks so much nicer with the painted woofs!
Thanks guys! :-) :surf:
