Greetings, my first post here. Can anyone tell me whats the best paint to use when doing some custom artwork on a box? I'd figured I'd use the busted up ones to pratice first.
It might be okay, but It depends on the paint you use. Some paints need primer and some don't either way I like the added insurance that the paint wont flake /chip as easily. I used it under trim paint on my Dakota's plastic fender flares that were faded grey and it is holding up really well being outdoors. Hit them with a scotch pad wiped clean, promoter then top coat black.

You didn't specify what kind of artwork, and by "best paint to use" do you mean easiest to use or top quality?
There is a wide range of options and opinions when asking a vague question..
The prep work is most important. Make sure the finish is smooth and free of fingerprints. Adhesion promoter is not needed...primer, duplicolor spray paint and clear coat. I suggest you practice on a small cheap boomer to perfect your technique. Slow and smooth with that spray can...good luck. There are better quality spray paints available, but I would suggest practicing with cheaper paint until your skill level improves.
