Sorry Bill, yeah I live in a very multicultural country (Australia) and my wife is Japanese so sensitive to that kind of slight (although not directed at me ) ).

How about Japan (I know not pic), still loads of cheap boxes over there.

Looking at a couple of GF-909's (GF-777) for under $100 aus.

I remeber seeing piles in the Denki Town in Osaka. At that stage not into BBX so didn't bat an eyelid.
ok start seaching i will help you carry them

HAHAHA! You from Perth too!!?!
Your not the fabled boom box collector I have heard about with 100's of ghetto's??
Mate, found heaps in Japan in the past 2 days.
Gonna get a GF909 & a ea900 (looks to be a re-badged 909) and go through the exercise of getting them over.
If all smooth and not to expensive for freight then will get MORE!(as long as the inlaws are cool).
Might have to pay my niece to do all the forwarding as she would be up for some pocket money!
I used to repair radios as a kid (I'm talking 10-15 years old) and it's something I want to get back into.

EA900 below = $38.25 aus!

GHETTOBOOM : Hey no problem!

REPTOID: This pic is more than 3 years old.. I've had it in my hard drive for that long and when I was going through some pictures last week, I saw and and forgot that I had it.. I was roaming around google checking out some boomboxes at that time. I can't remember what website I got it from. I went directly to that pic lol.

Those guys are NOT chinese people, and that is NOT china. China would definitely not post bilingual banners unless it was english.

Most likely that is Vietnam.

I am a little investigating

Definitely is China - Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xinjiang
The city maybe is Kashgar which is located on the far west end of China in the border with Kazakhstan.
"Kashgar is an oasis city in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kashgar
The people with traditional white (with some patterns) square hats in the sonicteambronxs picture is Uyghur people.

However there are bilingual advertisements and banners because the big part of population is Uyghurrs, and they have their own alphabet and language.

winner my mum and dad have been and yes this is Kashgar so see you all there

Not really impressive, actually. What's impressive is that Chinese guy on Ebay who sells 3 or 4 Sharps a week for the last 4 years at least. If you could find his warehouse and steal them all, you'd make out a lot better than you would at that run-down flea market.

agree and not.

The boxes are not as high quality as the SHARPs.
But to see sooo many boxes at one place (for sale) is really impressive.

Imagine you are there by bus and can take maximum 3 or 4 boxes. :-O
Haaard choice :-D
