Out of the game

It is interesting not buying any more... I still find myself looking at eBay every-so-often to see the prices and what is up for bids. Also go onto Yahoo Jap now and again. Been keeping mine up and running, clean and all.

I guess the only one I am missing is the Rising SCR 2005 (that I had one fair and square off of eBay Germany... But I was fUucked from behind by the seller).

That Rising that I had won, well... eBay did do NOTHING about that bad seller for I had not used PayPal for that. So in one go -if you look at it closely- I was fUucked twice from behind, once from the vendor and once ROYALLY by eBay... 'cause I did not use their money laundering system "PayPal".

Oh well... One day I might have that extra cash around and go back on the market for that Rising........ ONE DAY!

If not, who is still on the market and who is off? Let us know.

Every time I think I might slow down on purchases I make the mistake of going to Norm's house and I hear another sweet sounding boombox that I have to add to my collection.... ...at this point I would be happy if I can keep my collection under 50.

I still cruise eBay daily and watch all the great boxes but for the last year I probably haven't bought more than 5 or 6 on eBay and I forsee that slowing to almost nothing. I still thrift as much as I can but bring home very few boomers because I'm very selective now, I think that's fairly normal when the collection gets large. For a long time I thought 30 sounded like a nice limit but found myself buying new boomers when I tried to thin the herd down to that number.

i have only bought 1 box off ebay in 3 years .

in the past 2 years i have only gotten 2 new boxes 1 was a gift the other from a trade .

i have gotten 10 boxes for free from my buddy tj the trash man .

i'm down to about 30 boxes and don't need anymore unless they are dirt cheap or free because the bottom line is i only have 2 ears so that's 15 boxes per ear ,should be sufficient

the one thing i don't need is to blow money test driving every box on the planet . because seeing is wanting i only look at what i have not what i don't have , i think i got what i needed now because i'm not in heat for every box i see nowadays .

Every time when i think im slowing down another boomer pops up and put me in trouble with my finance . Cant stop looking adds. Never bought a box from ebay tho . Never know the exact count of the boxes too . Hunting is one of the best parts.

I basically took most of the summer off.
Working on cars mostly.

But I have to say I sometimes scare myself!
I have around 130-140 boomers- I lost count at 120
I find myself getting tight on room where i live!

I love boomboxes!

with Scott... Even though the Studio 1 is a 3 piece, it's the most amazing looking and sounding bbx and pretty close to being heaviest I highly doubt I would ever give it up

i'm down to 2 after many years of collecting.. my JVC RV-NB20 and my exciting project boomer the Sharp GX-88Z.. i've owned so many boxes in the past.. and i check Ebay daily.. but i have come to realize that most of my boxes just sat there collecting dust.. and the fact that my work doesnt allow radios (even though i work overnights) made it harder for me to have a reason to purchase/collect them.. i wont even keep the GX-88Z once it has been restored.. my RV-NB20 does everything i need.. and it sounds fantastic.. i never thought i'd see the day i'd be down to just one boomer..


but she's a sweet one!
