Original owner boomboxes

New topic: want to know who still has an original boombox that was purchased new, not the same one you used to own but THE same one you may have bought back in the day, most of you know I still have my Aiwa CS-880, and post some general info such as purchase price, purchased from, original manual, box, etc.

ME:

1982 Aiwa CS-880U purchased thru mail order catalog for aprox. $365, have manual, registration paper, 27 years old still kickin, bought it when I was 17, oh what a feeling, lol

Best I can do is my Baby Kaboom that I bought 10+ years ago, I honestly don't remember when I bought it but I'm pretty sure it was back in the 90's.

Sadly, no.

Had my Pioneer Sk303 (xmas 1984) up till about 4 years ago but got rid of it as it was really shot.

That's it, all my others are 'recent'.

but - prolly none of us thought they would become $$ hot re-sales

I know that the 3D30 was £79.99 in Argos.

Year 2000: Bought an End-Of-Line boombox for £99.99.

Best i can do is,a friend of mine bought a PC55 in 83 for £289,he kept it for years,until 1996,i bought it off him on my 26th birthday and still have it,i also have a Philips D8734 that i bought in 1995..sorry,not from new....

Right. Probably because I was older in the eighties. I didn't wear stuff out like I did was I was a kid. I took better care of it, and, when I was no longer interested in it, just stored it away. So when I started officially "collecting" a few years ago, I already had a small collection to work with.
