I have to assume I was bidding against some of y'all for this. Sure it's damn silly to spend money on a paper brochure, but..... it's even better than I thought it was gonna be. I've never heard of one before and don't see any mentioned on the board so why not be silly. It's opens up gatefold style and has a 4 wide spread when fully open. A few really nice pictures of the M90 and even showing some of the internals and talks about why this is such a special model. Even has the World Trade Center twin towers in it for god's sake.

Apparently if you were in the market to get one of these, you also were supposed to take it with you on your private helicopter around NYC.

Bad pics as it's just some quick iPhone ones for now. But you will see in the big spread shot, the tuner sure as hell looks white. I know mine is silver/gray and didn't know if there was ever a white one, but there is in the pic. Obviously different than the one on the cover and other shots that are as I know them to all be.

Does anyone have one of these, or even heard of them and I'm outta the loop? Similar to those crazy Sharp VZ2000 printed demo records that I got, I don't know how many are out there or in the 'community' of us rubes at least. So who's got a C100 brochure? Seen copies of the owners manual and schematic, but there's gotta be a marketing piece or two with pretty pictures of it and all the insane features like this M90 one.

Damn, that's sweet! If you get a chance, give it a proper scan and then upload to the "Downloads" section.

Congratulations!

I was gonna bid on that because it is pretty cool. Never be ashamed to buy a piece that helps complete the 'story' of one of your boomboxes. Good buy

Oh wow, that is awesome! I didn't see this for sale or I definitely would have been bidding on it! Please take some larger pics so we can read the text.

Congrats, this is an excellent score!

Is the M90 really bigger than the World Trade Center twin towers, as in the first page of the brochure? :hmmm:
Looking at the prices it seems so!

I've been to New York plenty of times and I don't remember that massive M90 being there :w00t:

Cool, so I wasn't the only one that hadn't seen such a thing before. Here's what I'm thinking. I'm currently doing some high res scans of it. I think I'm gonna clean up some of the wear/tear in the scans form the orig doc. Nothing crazy obviously airbrushed stuff, but just clean up some of the more minor wear/creases, etc as I see fit.

Being that I'm already gonna do a new reprint (post cleanup) of it for myself, I can look at what it will to cover my costs and shipping for anyone else that might want to buy one. Hopefully just a couple bucks but don't quote me. Not trying to make $ off y'all, but I'm gonna be trying to get the nice thick paper stock and as similar to the original as possible. So it'd be approx 32" x 11" 2 sided print to recreate the gatefold as the original. We'll see what that runs.

Then I'll make PDF's to share with the community too as this should be in our archives.

I'll keep y'all updated as I work on it. But please tell me on this thread if your are interested in the a nicely done reprint so I can make sure to PM ya when I think it's ready. (Don't want my PMs to blow up anymore than they already have from this and a few other things of late.)

Here's the list of users I'd assume are interested in when ready (not committed of course). I'll hit ya up with the results, and what cost should be for US shipping, and outside US of course will have to be looked at as needed. Please reply here if you want to be added.

Fatdog - assume you are interested but you'll get a free one for being the big boss around here)

Might end up doing the same thing with the C100 schematic if anyone wants nice reprints of it at full size vs just PDF's.

Just a little update as I've be playing with the cover after scanning them all in. There was just a bunch of semi-folded seams on it at the top, and then various edge wear mainly on the left, and some knicks on the boombox, etc. Cleaned that all up, actually found a vector file of the logo so reset that to have it look great, etc.

Check the original scan vs retouched in progress. Original scan of course came in a bit faded, and the blue sky was wacked out any minor folds. Hard to know how faded my original corporate JVC logo should be a bright red really, and probably originally was on this. So I may go that route since I'm already livening up my faded original. This is probably the only page I'll need to do this much work on.

Kinda excited on how this might turn out. Just gotta see what it'll cost to print the double sided 32 x 11.

Damn, I like that! Looks much better.

The antennas pointing out to the front looks so strange! All the music search numbers are lit up and the record button led. Strange . Maybe they are recording some stereo FM radio onto a tape :D

Oh yeah, was gonna mention that last night. Neither antenna lines up with where the actual posts are since they are both real close together in the middle of the handle width. And being this was done in what 82 or so, they weren't using photoshop to make wack edits like that.

I'm just assuming the design director saw the original cover and said "Hey we need to add a bad a** helicopter to the cover too". So designer guy had to do a literal cut/paste to move the antennas lower so the helicopter can fit in there.

Oh and the tape in the deck is labeled "METAL MUSIC TAPE" and features what looks like 2 classical song names
