So my Lasonic TRC922 had faded red markings. As you know I colored the top in with red marker but the output led meter also was faded. It took me a few attempts and I used a red ink pen so I can still clean without ink removal or use erasure to remove ink. Which works out nice. First pic is one I got off of good unit pic on eBay. The following three are different tries with last I feel is best. So let me know your opinions.

The first photo is a little hard to see, because it wasn't zoomed in as much. But it seems to look better!

Thanks Holly... 1st photo is what it originally looks like I believe ;-)

I think that there was a better technique to do it. Depending on shape and configuration of surface with printed markings, I think that the best way is to scan them - put the surface where the markings are the boombox on top of scanner, and scan them. Your black markings are symmetrical to red ones, so all it would take would have been horizontal flipping, selecting red color and adding numbers below.

Than you should check with local print shop, what kind of printing they do. I think that it is the only proper way to replace all worn out markings, especially after full paint-job of whole boombox. I think that even in factories they've used screen printing, and that is something every decent print store can to.

I stand to be corrected, and would like to hear if someone else has info about such markings are done in factories. There must be someone here on forum working in some company that marks their products in same way, or someone who knows somebody.

Found this for example

Thanks for info but I never painted unit and I really don't want to drop a load of money into it. Just wanted it to look more original :-)

It is easier to draw straight lines when you are drunk

The lines are straighter when you're drunk problem is, You gotta stay drunk to keep'em that way. :-D

Good job  What sort of marker did you use Bill? This marker would be ideal for the job

Mark for the lines on meters I actually used a red pen. One reason is its easy to erase but you can still wipe dirt and dust off. I'm afraid to use a marker as usually it's permanent and my hand is just not steady. Thanks for info

I would suggest to use some thin painters tape or pinstripe tape to mask the needed markings and then use a red paint pen. For the numbers... idk.
