Opinion needed guys

I have a chance at a Technics SA-C06 for $30. Unfortunately I cannot test soon enough to risk passing on it so would like your input if I should grab it or not.

I can get it for $30 BUT it has a broken (clean off) selector knob that is stuck on AUX and I do not have an Ipod to test it out. It powers on, the cassette is working and meters are functioning.

Don't know value off hand and cannot find any info on web at moment.

Personally I am not familiar with that box ... but just googled it and, after a quick look, I'd be snapping that up at $30 ... probably (famous last words) an easy fix

Classy unit and i would say a must buy at $30, whats that like 20 British quids??

They are not seen much on these shores but I don't know if they are more common over there? I think its a no brainer for 30 bucks

Who cares about a broken knob, just stick another one on, or just leave it off and turn it with a pair of needle-nose pliers.

Or just slap it on Ebay, it'd fetch $150+ even without the knob. Those things have some power.

Had to get my daughter from Tattoo Parly, then get box, hit Costco for late lunch, grab grandson from Daycare, and still haven't tried it here yet!

Cheers and thanks boys for the quick replies earlier as I had to zip home and back out again for I had a hold on it for an hour.
Could not get the one speaker to hang properly at store but I am sure it will go. More pics a little later. There is one dented/crushed corner on one speaker and a scratch on the face on right side of amp portion. Selector switch sheared off inside so will have to be replaced, but stuck on AUX which isn't bad for now.

Thanks Alan. Speakers work as tested at my daughters' place and when I get it home I will find out if it puts out sound. As mentioned before it seemed in store to be functioning ok but had no speaker wire or input source.

They are kinda cool looking aren't they. Yeah happy with the purchase so far. 1st Technics box!

Thanks a bunch. I had seen the 05 and 07 before on here and the web, and this is a first for me with these. Really not much info on this model however. Kinda like that tho, and have had some good luck finding unique pieces over the years.

Not really, but as I had no clue on this one, had to ask. Left myself hi and dry for $ after Home Depot run and had to get cash @ home. Can't believe the return time on the post form you and others! Posted mine, unloaded materials, came back to computer saw replies then bolted. Actually a bit over an hour on the hold time but the little girlie @ the Sally Ann store here appreciates us Ol' charmers,.
