it does not take ten d cels
it has a lot of akas associated with this model.
its not a jvc.
has interesting controls for the tape transport.
now you guys should be able to take a stab at a guess.

You will like it. It's one of the nicest sounding boomboxes amongst it's size class peers. I recapped and rebelted mine -- plays like a brand new machine.... so sweet sounding.

The 5150 was the first thing that popped into my head, but because of my "quick" reading and the thought that you would be more exicted about the 5350, well...

The RX-5150 is a really nice boombox. I had one - sold it - missed it - bought another one.

You are correct. There is a Quasar variant. Can't remember where the pic is though...
