Yep! You read it right! Oldskool is once again GIVING AWAY a few bits from his collection! This is what happened at the Midwest Swing when Joe got a nifty Sony CFS-9000. This time the opportunity and love is spread to ALL members.
Sometimes you just don't have enough room and that is what's happening here. Admittedly, I have been pretty lazy showing what I actually have or close-ups of the other boomers for various reasons. I'll be working to change that soon as I have more time on my hands while I look for a new job.
Besides, you know it's bad when you find a few Walkman's in a small cooler stored and forgotten about after a few years.
Nonetheless...to keep it fair to all around the world, the time for the contest start will be as soon as the post hits and will contain the rules at that time. Expect it around around 9:00am this Saturday or Sunday (so keep your eyes open), Central Time U.S. This should make it 4:00pm CEST (Germany), and 10:00pm AEST (Sydney, Australia). It will also allow for most of us to be off work.
So it works like this, your waking or up in the US, or 12 beers down in Europe, and maybe just plain hammered or getting ready for bed down under.
So what am I giving away?
Two very nice boxes really.
First Place:
One is a JVC PC-11, fully functional, great shape! Multi-Voltage!
The other?
Second Place:
A Panasonic RX-DT680 (With Remote! And yes the cassettes have developed a mind of their own.) It comes with a data disc as well so you can use the line out for line in! It is 120v only though keep that in mind.
Third place:
A brand new, no store sticker, never opened, yadda, yadda, Scotch XSM-IV Metal Cassette.
Now there is one hitch...YOU are responsible for shipping. I mean c'mon...the boomers are FREE!!! The tape is free! I'll ship 'em anywhere. You got the freight. They will be packed well, but I can't be responsible for the monkeys that are USPS, FedEx, UPS, or insert your favorite carrier.
Some of you less sophisticated members may not see the value in these great boomers, but for our newer members, it's a great opportunity to add to your collection while avoiding eBay. If you win, You'll be announced in this very thread. SO that being said, thanks for helping me clean up, clean out, or whatever it is I'm trying to accomplish.
Keep your eyes peeled!
Photos soon!
