Looks like this Queensland country town old timer retailer doesn't like turning over his stock!!

I bet these tapes haven't moved from this camera shop display case since the 80s!!

Yep, they're still $8.00 each. (1980s $$$s). :-)

Those are cool. Did you get any? I'd be willing to get a couple for photo ops. Never seen a shop with cassettes here

That can't be the original price tags that went in in the 80's. Surely?

You must have had a wicked exchange rate back then, a type-I C-60 only set you back a buck or two in the US.

Aren't those the cassettes that were used with the TRS-80 [trash-80] as a program data backup? Could be why they marketed them at $8 each.

I had one on my TI-994A. Just normal cassettes.

Haha. I remember those. Trash-80 was right! Although I had the TRS-80 Color Computer II which was even more of a great big white pile of horse dung. It had a red escape/break key as one of its wonderful attributes :-)

I finally got a real machine in the late 80's. I still use it and it is set up right now ready to go. I use it to keep track of my companies price list. It has a data-cassette hooked up but I have adapted the machine to use a SD card as storage. Every now and then I will use a 5.25 floppy :-)

Sorry, not trying to hijack this post. You are correct. They were nothing more than a regular cassette tape. Long live my C64 :-)

I picked up some computer reel cassettes
the sales guy was laughing at me buying this old stuff
and another place gave me half price without asking :-)
