Can anyone suggest a pair of speakers to upgrade the "super woofers" , that will produce a more subwoofer deep bass sound?
Also looking for a repair shop in NYC that will do this for me.
And if any Sharp GF-77 Masters think i should replace all 4 speakers
i'm not opposed to that either.

Thanks in advance !!!!

Thanks!!! Are these an option for the outside as well as the inside speakers?
What are your thoughts about coaxial speakers for the outside????

It's a matter of preference. The tweeters in the radio are pretty good. But new ones (like in coaxials) won't hurt to have.

Thanks Guys.
Question.
What is the wattage on the stock speakers for the GF777
and are all 4 speakers Identical?
and am I correct in saying the BASS and TREBLE controls
only effect the outside speakers and not the SUPER Woofer
??

The BASS knob also affects the Super Woofer. There was a member (I can't remember who) who suggested turning the BASS knob to about 25% and then turn the Super Woofer knob all the way to 100% for the best sound. That's actually what I use and I enjoy the sound better. I still wish the large GF-7/9/1*** boomboxes had better treble.

Yes FD,

I think that's why i want to put coaxial speakers on the outside
I hope that will make it a bit brighter !

coaxials will work great , you don't need high power speakers just ones with a signal to noise ratio of 90 db's or higher , which is the sensetivity rating of the speaker , this tells you how efficiently the speakers uses a given amount of power ,usually its 1 watt of power with a mic 1 meter away from the speaker thus 90 db's WITH 1 WATT @ 1 METER.

So then he'll have 4 tweeters?

yeah but he could just disconnect the two factory tweeters ,or just run all 4 wouldn't hurt none these need all the treble they can get , they got plenty of power just wimpy ass speakers .

Those speakers will NOT fit on the outboard due to clearance issues with the transformer. The middle spots are pretty much immune to the speaker clearance issue. The tweeters on the GF-777 are good but they are bad due to the implementation. In other words, the speakers are shrouded so that only 25% of it is exposed. If you disassemble and remove them -- you'll see what I'm saying. Bad on Sharp for doing that. Anyhow, coaxials should rectify that unless you want to somehow modify the tweeter mounts to "unshroud" them.

:agree: , in addition there are plenty of shallow mount co axial 4 ohm speakers out there to choose from if you wanted to just bypass the factory tweeters all together.

these would sound great .

yes i replaced the factory tweeters with the dayton audio ,this thing sounds better than any stock gf 777 better bass and highs and more of it ,basically you can crank it up loud with the bass turned up and it thumps ,the tweeters made a big difference ,the highs are way more pronounced and louder overall.
