That EGG isn't even Hitachi.

Its another EGG with the Hitachi brand name on it.

Its a bit like what happened with the Conion C-100F......It was sold under other names like Clairtone, Helix, Nippon..........

I am not quite sure why, but someone at Hitachi thought that it was a good idea to buy into this TRASH and put their brand name on it.

I prefer the Hitachi 8080 'Perdisco' BOOMBOX.





......Or even for that matter, the boombox with 8-track and little Piano built-in.

I feel the same way about rounded cars personally, {although I own one}
I want someone to bring back the chrome bumper with rubber guards .
Triangle corner windows with chrome handles to open it with, and so on...

The design is also less practical, if you have a look inside an egg everything is crammed in to the smallest possible space and I don't know much about acoustics but I believe that a speaker needs a good cavity behind it to work properly?

Another thing is that these designs are awkward to store because they are round and fat and take up lots of space on a shelf or in a box.

Finally, I like to carry a boombox, and these are rubbish to carry, they are to thick so you can't have them by your side or on your shoulder! Long live the 8080!

There is one good I see with the newer Hitachi that the older model could benefit by having.It would be interesting if the older Hitachi would have been available in the newer model's color scheme.If they ever start making retro boxes,I wouldn't mind if they tried some different things with colors.
