No stations on FM

So I got a Sharp QT27 that has an FM problem.

It gives static on fm but picks up no stations. It works on the other bands so the mechanism works.

I've cleaned all the switches as normal but that made no difference.

Any clues as I've not had to sort a radio problem before?

Most likely electronic component problem and sometimes quite hard to isolate depending.

Ok...good job it cost me nowt then it'll likely head for then bin then, after stripping of parts first of course
