Nice JVC RC-550 jw

AM Works, FM Works, Couldn't get any SW stations, but none of my boomboxes is is able to receive SW here, Cassette FF, RW and Plays. It actually sounds pretty good!

Had this one for awhile now, but never really played with it since I didn't really think it would sound too good as a mono-box but suprise, suprise, it sounds very good. The FM separation isn't there like in a true stereo boombox but with it's 3-way speaker system, it does sound suprisingly good -- better than I expected and it does get pretty loud.

I've never seen such detailed pictures of the 550.Serious eyecandy !Does that thing really have 3 drivers?Too bad its mono .They should have come out with a deluxe stereo version and called it the "1100".

Right indeed. But you know -- if this RC-1100 ever came to be, it would have looked darn funny because it's soooo huge, it makes the cassette chamber look disproportionately puny. Wait a minute .... it ALREADY does.

the plan

1. get another 550
2. velcro them both together

3. get 2 mono 1/8 " cords
4. get 1 stereo tuner or 1 tape deck or 1 CD player
5. hook them up to both 550s - i channel each

= STEREO
