Newbie Deck Maintenance Question

My Aiwa TPR 968 threw a belt and I was able to put it back on. I have no idea why it came off, so I figured I should do some cleaning and lubrication while I have it apart. What can I clean and/or lube and with what? Any help is greatly appreciated. If there is a good thread on this, please let me know! Thanks, Scotty

The belt probably needs to be replaced due to age. You can use rubbing alcohol to clean dirt off deck, heads, belts and tires. Be careful not to clean off any white lithium grease otherwise you need to relube parts. I would also recommend demagnetizing head for superior sound. I also recommend cleaning dirt inside box with mild soap and using deoxit or contact cleaner on switches and maybe pots.
