Those dudes leaving comments asking for working tape decks, lol......When push comes to shove, they wouldn't be willing to pay what's required

The M90 was already a killer deal for what it was, and yet people still complained about minor little things.

All i'd want is like a half size 777, it's the looks that's important. if it had a Tape Deck, Bonus, if not, no problem, Just Bluetooth will do

Some people are never happy. Even if we only get the mini GF-777, I will be thrilled! I don't know if I have room for another full-sized version.:lol::lol:

Half size will do for me Bob, and 4" woofers would do fine, i have plenty of boxes with 4" speakers in that sound decent, i remember the steepletone boombox that was around years ago, i remember Bav buying one, not sure if she was a member here or she was just on Stereo2go, or it might have been before you created BB, But the stereo was like a Ripoff 777, i was going to buy one years ago but people said avoid it like the plague because they were awful Quality and sounded like ass, so i never got one. a friend of mine has one, he owns a repair shop and someone took it for repair and never returned, he said he would sell it to me but that was about a year ago, it's still sat in his shop.

Yes, I was thinking why would I want a full sized version that can't come close to the original as the GF 777 was a high end product at the time. People will be dissapointed (read: nag about it). I like the idea of a half sized version A LOT.

Thinking about it, how cool would it be to build one with a real micro cassette mechanism?! Just dreaming ... :)

After the long gap I was afraid they had given up on the boomboc series This came completely out of the blue and is amazing news.
This is exactly the model I was hoping for and the prospect of a full size version is mind blowing. Obviously it won't be built to the standard of the original, and tape mechanisms have gone the way of the do-do but even as a display piece.....I'm in :)

I don't see any technical details on their website, so I guess they're just gauging interest at this point. I hope they give it 4 real speakers. Not just 2 speakers and 2 cosmetic ones. If they insist on using only 2 speakers, then I hope the other 2 will be passive radiators.

Fun fact, the Mini M90 has passive membranes behind the speakers.

Maybe some extra eye candy in the full size unit like functioning VU's would be sweet!

So funny the FB posts are requesting good tape transports on the full sized one. Sorry to burst bubbles but only one's available are Tanashin chinese mediocrity. Better than nothing I guess, depending on the price.

And some say, "I won't buy it unless it has working cassette players." I'm thinking, dude just save more money and get the real thing if that is what you want. Quality cassette mechanisms are NOT coming back. Sharp, JVC, Hitachi, and Matsushita have all moved on. Even if Sharp where to actually bring back the GF-777 exactly as it was, there would still be a lot of people complaining.

Right? Especially what we paid through the Kickstarter thing, killer deal for sure.

I do wish they got the AM working, only cause I listen to Seattle Mariners on radio vs TV, but heck I'm still happy and use mine all the time!

Looking at the picture they posted you can see that the full size one is an original Sharp. The smaller ones are obviously prototypes and already look very nice but you can see that the outside drivers don't match the original as the tweeter grilles are missing.
Obviously these things will be sorted before production. It's going to be very exciting times over the next several months seeing the progress.

I do not have the Sharp GF 777 so if the price isn't too bad, I might get a full scale model so I can pretend it's the real deal. It would look nice in my boom room. I'm glad they chose this next as I already have OG C100Fs so this is right up my alley with a 1:1 production. I would be okay with the unit having a cheap tape mech that is available today. If anything so I could play tapes :-)

I know there are lots who would like to have seen the same with the M90 on a 1:1 scale. Heck, I might get one of those also if they do it :-)
