New Tuner glass, who does such a thing?

I've seen a post or 2 where someone used some plastic from a standard Michaels frame, but what about 'non flat' tuner plastic. I.E. for a C100F with bevels and all? Any ideas who might do such a thing as a one off like that? I've got a crack, otherwise of course I'd 'scratch remover' the hell outta it and polish it up and I'd be money. Worst case would be to peice it together from flat pieces. That would take some precise cutting/gluing and all I'm sure.

And FYI, I love DeOxit. First time using it, and only from the outside, and this beast's volume is 100% better. Left side would almost always be cut off and extremely touchy. Now it's almost always working while turning the knob, just some static left while turning. Give it another shot from the outside maybe. After that I guess it's a take apart and rebuild job, but I want to avoid it as it's 'good enough' right now. Save it for the 'if I open it up' to do list.

Yeah that would be nice to find a good source. I had a GF-9191 and the tuner glass was almost urine yellow in color. I couldn't tell if it was originally like that or if it was due to age, but I sold it anyway.

i used to work for a plastics company some years ago, we used to supply vinyl to sign writers.......but also did a lot in sheet Lexan film. Its used for loads of things like microwave doors, plastic windows in air craft etc........if you can get hold of some 3mm lexan film General Electric makes it......you could use that as a replacement tuner glass, its quite easy to cut with a model saw or a Stanley knife......and if heated, can be bent and shaped......i cant get any, as the company went bust some time ago.....but General Electric should still make it.

There is a place where I live in Modesto, CA called Plastics 2000. I'm going there tmrw to have them make an acrylic window for a vintage Sun tachometer I'm selling. It's a simple flat rectangular window with 2 holes for knobs. I was quoted about $15. I just bought a Sharp GF-575 that needs the window over the tuner dial. It has a short angled piece so I'm gonna see if can do it rather cheaply. It's also missing both cassette doors so I might have them make a simple temp cover for it. I have an 80's party in a couple of weeks, so I need to dress it up a bit.

Do a Google search for them. Their website say they don't have minimum order requirements.

Hey GZ, if you find a place to remake that glass, order me one! For real though, I need that same glass for my Conion, and my crack looks just like yours. Not sure if that place mentioned would need us to send in one of ours for them to spec to, or if we need CAD files for it, but I'll do whatever. Like you said, mine is just mean muggin me too much. I'm fine with the little wear and scratches on things, but a crack anywhere is just annoying.
