Hi everyone,
I'm from California and just recently picked up a Sanyo M9998 from a thrift shop. The best part is, I paid $6 for it. Everything works but the tape deck. I'm not a collector by any means but I just had to have it after listening to it. It's been a huge hit at parties when people realize they can plug in their ipod and how great it sounds. It really got my interest going for the culture and the different restoration/customization projects.

Nice BOX!

You won't believe how great a lot of the old boxes sound. While TVs are going all high def, it seems that sound is going kind of the opposite way because of space restrictions. Of course, the way they mix music to save space has a TON to do with it, too.

I hope I get to hear a box like yours someday.

Hey I am just new to this sight and to collecting boxes. What part of California are you in. The Bay by any chance? trying to buy one of these things.
