Hey Guys, I know I don't post much...
But I won the TDK on Ebay a few weeks ago, got it today,
and figured someone here would be interested
in how it was...
To begin with, this sucker is heavy! According to the manual... 31.7 lbs ..without batteries and it takes 12 Ds
As for the size, it is 24"w x 15.5h x 6 d ---- A large box for sure! and makes its presence....
The handle is the length of the box and is no substitute for the handles of a good C100 or M90 and despite it being aluminum, with the padding on the bottom,
it flexes under the weight of the radio. Also, it is not real comfy to carry, as you cant get a good 'grip' on it.. but it is satisfactory+
The styling is Sleek, pretty plain... as you can see it is very minimalist.... with, IMHO, the right touches of lights and display.
There is no power button, however the left dial is the Power/volume knob... you literally, turn it on... the right dial is the tuner and level adjustment, and a select button.
The rest of the features are touch-screen-like in nature (FM-AM-USB-AUX-INSTR, and EQ )
Inputs allow for those previous options... USB, 1/4 inch jack, 1/8 inch jack, and RCA..(included were an IPOD cable, and a 1/8 to 1/8).. plus a plug in for an AM or an FM antennae(included with radio).... good reason for that too... there is no ARIAL! at all...
So, reception is OK with-out them... local stations come in great, but you definitely need the plug ins to bring something in thats a bit out of the area... though the reception with them is fantastic!
So far I have only listened to it on FM and through an IPOD and I will tell you this.... the sound is Fantastic!
Clean and crisp highs and really really smooth Bass ....
Not a bass powerhouse... its bass you can hear more than bass you can feel
And this Sucker sounds pretty darn good.....
I will try to post a video in a day or two... if I can figure out how to post one...lol.. and as I get to try out more of the features, I will post some more, and some more pics as well...
In the meantime... Im jammin' some old school
