i've been posting a little bit on the forums but i've yet to formally introduce myself,

i'm 22 years old, so just caught the tail end of the boombox thing, remember my dad having a sharp QT77

i'm pretty into my audio gear, as is my father- I have a rotel rc/rb850 set up with technics speakers from an old sc-9000 system which is in the loft somewhere, and my dad runs a pair of mirage om-9's as part of a 5.1 home theatre setup, very fancy setup

no boomboxes anymore, but i'm looking for my first one- originally wanted a crown 5100 but now I want 3 or 4 more too, the more 80's, boxy and blingy the better

I have a background in industrial design and a bit of electronics, so i'm handy with a soldering iron for those repair jobs

i'm also on stereo2go

so yeah, another lad representing the UK

That's not the first time I heard that we are a relaxed bunch. Wonder what the other site is like now. Maybe I should poke around over there. :hmmm: :hmmm:
Wonder if there are any NY cats on that forum :hmmm:
Oh yea welcome aboard! And post up some pictures when possible. You guys from the UK always have some great equipment out there. For us your equipment is like exotic. Good luck in your search.

steroe2go you mean? yeah it's good over there, slightly more technical I think, tend to get more detailed answers for questions, this forum is much busier though, more posts and new threads every day- the customisations sub forum is killer too

yeah i'll post up some of my gear soon- got some nice hi-fi kit you guys will be into, old stuff and some new gear
