Hi everyone, the names Kev im situated in the UK and Ive just bought myself a Sharp VZ2000, i had one back in 1983 sold it in 84 been looking for one ever since, but now im a bit flush i decided to treat myself, and found myself quite a nice example from Ebay.......couple of things like slider switches broke, but the buy i bought it from was the original owner from new. He changed the belts for the turntable and she sounds really good. All i need to do now it buy a record collection again....LOL....

i forgot how big this unit was (and heavy) looking forward to running it often. I do realize that parts are scarce for these units, but would like some information if anyone has any, on obtaining some parts. I missed out yesterday on a 'spares or repairs' VZ off ebay, that went for a measly £25 !!!!!!!

hope to hear from you

regards

Kev

hi thanks mate, just listening to my VZ now, managed to get a LP from a charity shop, sounds pretty good, but A side sounded a little slow, switched to B side and it sounded ok, i let it play and now its playing side A and it sound ok now, i dont know, maybe it just needs running, the guy i got it off said he had changed the drive belt on the turntable, but i dont really know what hes done.

i just hope she keeps going for a while......

welcome , turntable boxes do tend to get rigor mortise if not used regularly so i would just keep running it and see if it loosens up more , i have 3 turntable boxes a jvc dc 7 sharp vz 2500 and vz 2000 and they can all act the fool if i don't use them regularly .,plus i'm too lazy to change the bets  .

Hi all, my names Baz, just joined as the site looked good and I have a little collection going now, have had a gf555 for a few years now. Just read the thread from Madbadger, Kev dont want to upset you or anything, but it was me that bought the £25 vz2000, and the cheap, well I thought so, vz2500, just picked it up 3hr drive each way, looks good but needs a bloody good clean and all new belts, pinch wheel is rotten as well, but everything else is all there, waiting for the vz2000 to turn up, I think its going to need some work though, buttons and sliders missing, if no joy I will stick with the vz2500 and sell it on.
