HI everyone!
recently started getting into vintage ghettoblasters
i dont own one yet but im on the lookout in finding one thats the most bang for the buck!
and of course, something thats rare and unique :thumbsup:
i dont know much about them besides the fact that they just look amazingly sexy and sound great, but im learning fast from this forum

ill keep you guys posted when i do pick up one!

Welcome aboard. I am also a fairly new member...be careful, it takes over pretty fast if you let it, but it is such a great obsession to have. Everyone here has been so helpful. You have a question, check here and you'll probably find an answer. If that doesn't work, post your question...it's nuts, in like 10 mins you have an answer. Just a good group of people who love these boxes. Have fun and good luck on finding your first. Like I said, go into it with your eyes wide open...you will either find one, play it and be satisfied....orrrrr you might fall into the category most of the rest of us on here are in....you might start checking ebay 10 times a day, boomboxery first and last thing, unable to pass yard sales and thrift shops, spending hours in the garage repairing & cleaning these boxes til they're good as new...then just listen to them endlessly(and I know this sounds strange...but you might just stare at them while you listen...like it's tv or something). You've been warned

hahah thanks for all the warm welcomes!
but yes im already seeing it happening!! im checking ebay and craigslist nonstop
and already planning out how to fix it, clean it, and play with it hahah
maybe ill slow down once i actually have one...
i just want my first one to be the right one :-D

oh and quick question!
since im a new member, i cant view the FS thread until i have 1-50 post to my understanding.
i pretty sure i already fall inbetween the 1-50 post mark lol but the top banner explaining that is still there and i still cant view it
any thoughts? or im i just missing something :huh:

You can't enter that forum until you have 51 posts. The amount of your posts is located on the left of each post under your name. They have that rule as a way to weed out people coming in here and trolling for boomers and also, to get to know people before you set up a deal with them. Just a security thing.

Picked up a hitachi TRK 8180w recently!
Love it! So nice!
Only thing I can compaire it to is my panasonic, and it sounds so much better lol!
I'll post up some pics soon!

Does anyone know any information on this box?
I know they also had a 8180e and 8180em
