Hey guys. Newbie here from Tasmania, Australia.

Back in the early 80's my best friend had a Sharp GF 767 which I greatly admired. So have always been on the lookout for something similar.

This weekend I managed to pick up a VZ2000 from a second hand shop for $20! It's in very good condition (only the tape selector slide is missing) and it needs new needles. Tape deck and radio work beautifully. Pic below.

Spent a great Saturday night listening to a pile of my TDKs from the 80s. What a trip!

Cheers Kurt

I knew it was only a matter of time before a two headed Taswegian come on board.

Just kidding, great score for just a redback, welcome aboard the good ship boomboxery Kurt, plenty of Aussies here, and some can help with advice to get that VZ going the way it's meant to.

seriously, 20 dollars? That has to qualify as score of the century!

Cheers fellas.

Yes Terry, $20! They had it on the shelf of a 2nd hand shop in an akward spot to get to, but I knew it was special when I spied it! Also have plugged a 1/4" to 3.5mm adaptor into the microphone plug and it is making a *great* iPod dock!

PLEASE rather use the line-in on the back :-/
The microphone input from the iPod might fry your amps :sadno:
Plus it sound a lot better with line-in :-D
