I've been lurking a little while and finally decided to join as this place seems like a great resource of info and like-minded individuals. Looks like I found the place to be!
I have several boomboxes/portable stereos.
In no order:
-Sony ZX-5S
-Sony FH-15R (with CDP-7F)
-Sony CFS-71S
-Sony CFD-12
-Pioneer SK-31
-Hitachi TRK-8190HC
-Magnavox D8443
-Mitsubishi TX-86
Some are projects. I replaced the surrounds on the FH-15R's APM-158s. It's tape deck is a bit more complicated than I'm comfy with for the time being. I tore-down and partially restored the ZX-5S. It has a broken tape belt drive pulley, but all else works good and it looks fantastic. My Magnavox has a lot of issues, but I have yet to really take a good look at whats going on inside.
Along with my boomboxes, I also have some other vintage home audio stuff including some old Wharfdales.
