i had no idea there was a community for people with old boomboxes, thats awesome, i have been fascinated by these since i was a little kid and got an old panasonic as my first boombox, ive had several but was never able to hold onto them because i was moving all the time, anyways, i found another old box in a shed yesterday, and i found this site today, so i figured i would join and introduce myself, and show off the new.. old box i found

i like the speaker grills, and it sounds great, it has aux in, and a bunch of other features, and has the microphones above each speaker for stereo recording, deck works good too! im thinking about upgrading the speakers to a pair with some bad bass with built in tweeters

pictures were taken with my phone, so not so good quality, my camera is in Orange beach right now

That's a real vintage unit right there....Is there any brand or serial numbers on it? That's great the cassette is still working. That's just amazing! You will find yourself collecting cassettes here and there, just for BLASTING on your boombox!

it is heavy, it had some old batteries in it, i took them out since they were dead anyway. thought that was why it was so heavy

thanks again for all the warm welcomes, it really is awesome that there is a community like this, i never wouldve thought, i used to carry around my previous box's to parks and stuff and no one understood why, lol, plan to carry this one around too, need to get me some D cells

:w00t: It's amazing what you can find in a shed, isn't it? :w00t: I've always liked the look of the extra wide tuner scale on some of the early models like yours. In fact .There's a similar model in a shed out back of my house that used to belong to my dad.I'm pretty sure it's a Realistic.I must go and find it!

i read that they used to make them with weights installed so that they wouldnt fall over when you listen to them in the streets.
