Hi there! new blood here, from the UK (London)

Just thought i'd make an account and post, as I found these forums full of good information and helpful people

Always wanted a boobox, but never really had the time or money to invest into one until recently. I've got a wishlist of 3 I always kept an eye out for, those being the JVC 3090, Aiwa CS-880 and the Sharp VZ-2000.

A few days ago i snagged my first one from that list, a VZ-2000 being sold only a 15 minute walk away from my house, so i had to get it! Payed £90, and carried it home (not on my shoulder though.. was too scared i might drop it )

It's in good cosmetic condition, though has some issues, which i've made a thread in the Sharp>VZ section of the forums, if anyone would help guide this novice to get it working propperly.

Excited to finally own a boombox from my old wishlist, and looking forwards to blasting some tunes from it :stereo:

Welcome! Nice choices you have there. 15 minutes is a long time to carry a VZ2000...bet your arm was aching by the time you got home lol. The 880 and 3090 are harder to find than a VZ sadly but they are great boxes :-)

Welcome to Boomboxery. Just had a big collector's meet in Manchester this weekend. Was down in London all this past week.

Good luck tracking down those boxes. They are out there

Welcome mate, three solid choices there, the CS880 i have to say is an amazing box, especially refoamed. The VZ is a classic box and being able to play vinyl to is so cool. Great score

Thanks for the warm welcome  Oh, and happy Easter!

I know 'm going to have a hell of a time trying to find a 3090, I've only seen one in the past year or so, and it was beaten up bad. Right now i'm waiting for the contact cleaner and replacement belt to arrive in the mail. Hope giving it a good clean will bring that left channel back!

Lets just say it took 15 minutes to get there, but 20 to get back, and the last 5 had me sweating!

Welcome, I can tell you the cs 880 sounds great but it also was one of the loudest boomboxes I ever heard , I mean it would hurt your ears but it sounded great lol.
