Hey Guys - Got an interesting story. I purchased this nice Sangean U3 work radio (boombox?!?) a few weeks ago and decided to bring it to the job site with me to give it a workout. Turned it on, started listening for a while, and noticed a most annoying and unusual rattle around the speaker area. I couldn't believe my bad luck - I had thought I could bring this one with me for a while.... I promptly shelved it and went on my way...
Finally, I got some time this afternoon to have a peek at the guts... it turns out, there is a ribbon cable from the power supply to the circuit board, and it was sandwiched against the back of the speaker, which was causing the rattle. After rearranging the cable (all of 3 seconds), it's been working perfectly! In case you don't know what this one looks like, here's some pics:
I didn't buy this new - but it sure looks like it. It has some amazing am performance - I like listening to a lot of sports talk while at work... This rivals my Optimus Super Tuner for am... Built like a tank, and even has a light for rockin' in the dark!
Thanks for looking - Adam
