New acquisition, Toshiba Bombeat DM-02 $2 special :-)

Hey all, just grabbed a cool little Bombeat from the shop where I volunteer as their PC repair guy. Offered to me for $2 or it was getting dumped due to no power supply and non working cassette. Happily, I saved the little guy so he can rock on

I'll put some pics up soon, just been giving it a good clean. It's currently in a dismembered state as I ripped out the tape mech to see what was wrong with it. Can you believe some heathen had reassembled the box previously and had completely failed to engage all the top buttons into the tape mech ! Unbelievable - not one button engaged properly. Anyway it needs belts BADLY - total goo-fest inside. I've had to find belt lengths from a slightly different model so I hope they share the same mech - main drive belt and idler belt are needed, counter belt should suffice.

More to follow - then it's on to the Akai PJ-W30 which I can find any belt lengths for, and then on to my Philips N4418 reel to reel which looks like an explosion in a liquorice factory inside......

Great grab, and Toshiba used low quality belts probably, all Toshibas i´ve opened up and have reached to me have had goo instead of belts, yes, ALL of them. Good luck with the resto, looking forward to more photos !
