Deech and I have been talking about a possible purchase of the Conion H-101F I recently acquired but as it's a rarity and neither of us have a clue on what price we should agree on we're asking for your help.

I'd like to ask everyone here what price do you think the machine is worth and the reasoning behind it. We're going to average out the price and use that.

All input is appreciated.

Sel.

Well... whatever you paid....
Yeh I tend to agree. If I need as much as possible I stick it on eBay. If I sell to a fellow collector I tend to keep it close to what I paid

I think your time and efforts are worth something so that must be considered. Its not everyday you see conion receiver intact and there's an affiliation with well known conion boombox that can't be denied just by looking at it.

Yes give you credit because most would bust her up and use the cassette doors but the thing is so rare and cool its hard to decide.

Thanks Floyd.

I understand that I paid a really good price for it but I want to be happy as well Deech too. Yes I could stick it on eBay with the C-100F affiliation and get top whack for it, but that's not what I'm about.

All I'm asking is for people to be reasonable, taking into consideration the uniqueness of the machine regardless of how much I paid for it.

Cheers.

It's rare and it's badass. I've never seen it before. The only photo on Google is yours.

But in terms of quality, I doubt it's a high-quality unit, so keep that in mind too.

Sel hello! Dont know how much you paid for it.
Its a good thread, why not ask opinions after all we are all locked down.
I d take it from you for the price you will tell me !

ask a price you think it suits and we will work something out for sure.

Hey Deech.

I'm all for opinions mate, that's what the thread is about, but comments about selling it for what I paid for it are unreasonable.

I originally bought it just for a door to save some money, to sell the machine and then still have to pay more money on top for another door is ridiculous, I just don't understand the logic behind it. No-one else here in their right mind would go through that.

It is a good thread, it's a nice discussion when there's something different and rare that comes along to a member and to share it.

I'll have a think about it and get back to you then.

Not an unreasonable opinion at all...just one you don’t agree with, doesn’t make it unreasonable. I’ve sold several to fellow collectors for what I paid for it (and sometimes less!) so clearly I’m not in the right mind lol. If you’ve changed your mind about having it and another collector wants it, pass it on. If you need the profit stick it on eBay. If you want to support fellows collectors in the game just pass it on. Perfectly reasonable and not ridiculous opinion. Doesn’t mean you have to do it obviously...it’s yours so you do what you like with it. But I would suggest asking for opinions then calling them ridiculous is unreasonable lol

Northerner,

If it's a machine that comes and goes regularly then I'd say fair enough, I've sold plenty of machines for what I've bought them for, including at a loss (Sharp GF767 for 150 quid including postage to the UK springs to mind) so I know how that dance goes.

Of course, if another member wants it then by all means I'll pass it on, but because of the nature of the machine (and that a tape door will cost me 3 times what you're telling me to sell the whole machine for) is the reason why I said the opinions are ridiculous, it didn't seem that much thought went into the situation and the comments came as off-hand.

I'm not here to rile people up or cause arguments and apologies if I've come across as an arse.

No worries, the only arsey bit was to suggest an opinion is ridiculous but I can cope with that lol. I certainly wasn’t telling you to do anything, I specifically said it’s yours so you do what you like with it. The definition of the financial value of something is what someone is willing to pay for it and if there’s no past sales to get a clue from then it’s hard to guess. Some audio stuff like that is worth a fortune, some is worth pennies, so we have no idea lol. If Deech is ok with paying what a new C100 door would cost then that would seem to be a deal where both get what they want?

I know you wanted to open it up to the forum but there are too many different philosophies on here and it probably doesn’t serve either you or your potential buyer any good and just wastes time. Besides that it’s really no one else’s business so best at this stage to just deal with your potential buyers via PM and get your deal done.

Good luck
its a lovely piece.

For me the cassette receiver is worth more than the tape door. Sel you find a tape door and i ll pay for it straight away !
