Need help identifying this box

Hey Everyone,
I’m getting better at doing this myself. But I think I have to give up on this one. If anyone can ID this box that would be super helpful. My best guess is an older National Panasonic because of the grills, but I’ve had no luck. I’m fairly sure the 2nd photo is the top of the same box.

And...

I’d also like some tips on doing this myself. How are you guy so fast? Referencing old catalogs? Years of acquired knowledge? Time machine? Warehouses full of old boomboxes?
Any help would be great.

It looks like one of the more recent Chinese boomboxes. The cassette keys are "cheap" looking. I've never seen a vintage boombox with curved cassette keys either.

I've seen this box before, I'm pretty sure that thing under the tape deck looks like a big chrome tweeter horn although I'm not sure what it does .

It's not exactly the same as the Cougar, but the speaker rings are right on.
