Our current logo(s) for where I work are junk. I'm not going to even post them to give any direction or idea with our old images because I don't want the new stuff to look like the old.

We are 2 companies.

Steel King
King Manufacturing

We do custom manufacturing of steel, sheet metal, bending, shearing, welding, plasma cutting, steel signs, tables, furniture, countertops, waterpark railings, painting, decaling, etc. (not a machine shop)

Our 'niche' are fuel station canopies. They are steel structures over fuel pumps when you go to the gas station but we do a lot of custom work too.

I want ANY of you to come up with a logo or design using Steel King and King Manufacturing in the logo.

I will make it a contest with the chosen logo and copyright given to us in exchange for a custom design and cut steel sign.

Here are some of our products:

Its hard to have a single logo for 2 separate companies and not have one overshadow the other. Your boss should consider combining so there is no confusion. Maybe Steel King Manufacturing or Steel King products and manufacturing? Just a thought.

Or maybe do what Candle, Citizen and Jutan International did....

A single logo just with different words identifying the brand.

Since KING is the common denominator, perhaps KING could be the logo, and the company name would just be added to the logo.

We have discussed 'why' there were even two company names to begin with and the reasons. 'Steel King' was the installation side of King Manufacturing. We had our own crews/vehicles/etc when not only did we manufacture the product but they went to the site and would install if the customer wanted us to, or they could subcontract themselves and we would only give them product.

We don't have our own crews anymore, we have subcontractors that work hand-in-hand with us.

The truth of the matter is if you have steel and king and manufacturing all on the same logo, it is going to appear as if it is all one name. The best thing to do then is simply have a logo, KING (some kinda fancy text). Then like the citizen and candle brands, use that logo along with the wording for the proper company. If you do not separate the text Steel King and King Manufacturing and use the same logo for both companies, it is for all practical purposes, going to be perceived as one company and perception = reality.

Or....

Steel King
...........KING
......................King Manufacturing

Yes.

The logo can be done like that. KING as the center of it all and manufacturing/steel under the king umbrella.
