Won this beauty on ebay n picked it up from a local seller. It's practically mint condition other than a few minor scratches on the back and the red terminals have snapped off, but these are easily fixed (temporary atm with bluetac.. ) After taking it apart and dusting it out it sounds crystal clear with amazing bass and very crisp highs thanks to those tweeters. 3-way speakers in wooden boxes with 30w on each side, 5band eq (wish it had 7 but its better than nothing!), very nice soft touch controls in brushed aluminium, 'vacuum fluorescent' spectrum analyser which looks stunning, auto-reverse tape deck that doesnt require side switching and can play metal tapes, inputs for phono and aux, dolby stamp of approval plus something about 2 hybrid IC's... :w00t:

The rx was on the top of my wish list and i just can't believe i found one for sale in my very own city! I listen to it all the time and even find myself starring at it for ages wondering how something from 1985 can still look brand new.

The RX-C300 is certainly a beautiful box, you've got to love that spectrum analyzer.

I've never been a big fan of square speaker boxes but that is a real beautiful piece of work. :w00t:

The RX-C300 had to be pinnacle of National Panasonic back in the day. It has classic looks, a spectrum analyzer, weighs about 500 lbs. (227kg / 36 stone) :-D , and has power for freakin' days!!

That's a most excellent score, Ferret.

To find one anywhere is hard enough. To find one in Australia -- that feat really needs proper appreciation.
