More of a light cleaning than a full on restoration.

This thing was absolutely disgusting, it really smelled bad and needed the pots cleaning,

The handle was oozing brown gunk in the bath. I probably have hepatitis from this thing.
As I was disassembling it, I broke the earth that attaches to the back of the speaker, but apart from that it was straight forward. The tape deck moves, but when it comes to playing something the tape doesn't move. I believe it's the belt that's really slack, but I left that for now.

I put it all back together, plugged it in... And nothing, I thought I'd killed it. But I changed to a different lead and it fired right up.

The pots don't crackle anymore and even with a snapped aerial it picks up FM fine. AM stations I picked a French station up.

The first song I heard? Born In The USA. Which seemed fitting. Here's a quick video I put on Twitter.

I havent cleaned it perfectly, but it doesn't stink the house out anymore.

Nice work, it scrubbed up as well as I do (on a good day!). It's good that you can see past all the dirt and grime that makes the box look like a beat up no-hoper, many folk can't see past grime and walk away - and that's a good thing.

I love the look of these from the front, it looks badass. It has that whole cold war era thing going on plus its nice and uncluttered. Good clean up mate

It sounds really good, because it weighs over 5kg. It doesn't sound tinny.
