Not a museum piece for sure but nothing is missing. It strongly resembles RQ-4050FD just a bit wider case with same size speakers and added tweeters. Similar date of June 1979 on the motor. Will report more progress.

This is one of the Nicest looking Panasonics ever made :)
I remember when i got mine. Those Grills are simply amazing.
Congratulations for finding one Toshik. Have you get it locally or
intenationally?

I've got it from overseas (as far as my Florida location is concerned) :-) Built like a tank with same boards layout as RQ-4050FD. Both models don't actually have separate grills - they are a part of front case with different color painting and Nickel-plating. Left side volume is on a low side.
Left UV meter has marking for battery level - how do you select between battery and music levels?

I read the forum and it turned out that VU meters are only active in record mode(!)
RQ-4050FD and RX-5100F hava a separate switch to select LED meter modes between off-batt/tuning-levels...
I will repeat myself - built like a tank, all plastic everywhere is very solid and will easily last another 40 years :-) There was a minor issue with radio band switch and besides cleaning that's about it.

It's hard to beleive that only 40 years ago mass-production was so high quality! I paused for today will try to clean the front case tomorrow.
