Greetings everyone. Hey, has anyone ever seen a early 90's single piece black Magnavox boombox with dual cassette, CD player on top and foldable handles on each side (instead of a single bar-style handle across the top, this has one handle at each end that can be raised like wings...), Turbo Bass Generator, auto reverse, etc.

Trying to price one but I don't know the model number. Stereo 80's does not list this in their database. Thanks for your help in advance.

LONG LIVE ROCK STEADY CREW (RSC)!

re: "this thread needs more pics..."

Yep, working on that. My wife took the digi cam to work today so I should have a pic posted later tonight or tomorrow...

It's not what I would consider a "classic era" boomer, but puts out some nice sound. Will try to add a pic later on.

Interesting. :hmmm:
I guess the thought was you would cary it hanging length wise, that would look odd if you carried it around cranking your tunes like an old classic boomer.

I wanted one of these back in the day, and I am not sure why now, but I ended getting a Hitachi 3D30 as a christmas present instead......

May have been something to do with the price. I cannot remember how much this box was new, but the 3D30, back in Dec '93 was £79.99.

Oh, and the box pictured above is sold here in the UK as Philips.

Anyone got one of these Philips / Magnavox boxes?

I'd be interested to know how much one of these can woof.

V- you're the man - THAT'S THE ONE! Sorry for the delay in responding, been knocked off line for a few days!

But yes, that is exactly it.

So, no classic bona fides, huh? In either case -- good to know that you were able to find it!

@ BoomBoxDeluxe :

Yes, I do have one of these. I may try to fix it up at some point. Actually, it's in great condition except it's a bit dusty and the CD door, even though it closes just fine, doesn't apply enough pressure down on the CD to allow it to play continuously. But it does have a great sound to it.

Okay, since now we've found the box in question (thx again ViennaSound), okay, so let's say I want to restore this thing. Any advice? All knobs are present and working -- no static or noise. The thing is VERY dusty. Any silver bullets or simply a matter of q-tips and mild detergent?
