Heya there bros!

Today I just got one of these CassetteThingamajigAdapterMumboJumboDogDowntheBananaPatch things from ebay! Well, I actually got it shipped from Caracas, but before that it was in Miami, and before that it was in China in some warehouse.

It's a Chinese manufactured (don't really know where it was designed, but probably in China too) MP3 player / Car Adapter / Cassette Lookin' thing... it's OK, not really the best of materials or nor it has the "feel" of an iPod, but heck, I mean for the price what more do you want???

It even came with a 2GB Kingston SD Card + really hard/cheap plastic earbuds (the really cheap iPod imitation ones I mean), a Cigarette Lighter Adapter, USB Mini to USB Standard cable, and the wall adapter.

It was a whopping $9.00 + $14 shipping from China to Miami!

What's really cool is that if you don't have an Lasonic i931 yet (like me) or never really plan on getting one (not like me) then this little booger will turn your Boombox into a 2GB SD Readin' Baby! And also you can use it as a stand-alone MP3 player and be sportin' the cassette around in the meantime! :afro:

One cool thing they did, is when you're tired of a song, you can press the rewind button on your boombox or tape deck and the device (don't ask how) jumps to the next song which is kinda cool...

Check out the pictures I downloaded of it... soon I'll post mine and maybe a short video on how it works (the manual came in German and French) :dunce:

No, that's not my hand...

Oh, mine came with the "cooler" white earbuds, heheheheheh...

Got one of those for Christmas just gone. :-)

Sounds nice, some decks seem to struggle with the fwd/rewind track selection.

And I get a slight background 'whine' like a digital interference which is even louder while the next track is loading in.

On the whole though pretty impressive and nice to do away with line-in cables.

Ahh, glad you get it too thought mine had a an 'issue' but as you say for a cheap item it could be inherent in the design.

It's not too much of a problem with 'louder' MP3's but quieter tracks the signal to 'whine' ratio is poorer.

Still, a useful little gizmo :-)

Oh, I meant to say between tracks! Not while the song is going, or maybe it does but I just haven't listened to soft tracks, all Beastie Boys, Run DMC, etc... hhahahahahahah

When it loads the next track it does a tiny weird digital chirp noise... does yours?

That's right, you get a 'chirping' (good word) between tracks that is noticeable without any effort, and the background 'whine' is ever present when playing a track, albeit quietly hence my feeling that it is livewithable in the main.

I've heard that same noise when people use laptop headphone outputs into a mixer/amplifier when the mouse pointer moves and the disk accesses. May be some lack of screening?
