Hi everyone-I'm making a weekly review of any 1 boombox and this week: It's the Sanyo M9990K.
Now mine is almost mint and sounds really, really nice.
First of all I notice that the bass at low to mid volumes is quite deep for a mid-size box!
I mean it's really good!
I'm also impressed with the stations being picked up quite well with the antenna down even.
I really am impressed with the cassette also-sounds very good and I love that it has 2 VU meters which is really nice.
Stereo wide is also quite nice for some songs.
This is one beautiful box and with all the timer controls and the second count down you can do some pretty precise recording on this gem.
I like that it will go into seconds mode.
The dial light is just beautiful w/2 lights! 1 in the quartz clock area and also the right side of the dial.Quite bright to!
Great highs and lows that don't seem like they would come out of a box this size.Overall I'm impressed-like JT said-It's a very nice warm sound-really nice bass!
Have a great week!!
Next week another Sanyo to review,
Have a super sunday-GB. :-) :surf:   :choco: :breakdance: :stereo: :stereo:

NIce review and I agree, the 9990 is a really nice box especially when considering the size.

In one of my trimming phases I told myself I could only keep either the 9990 or 9994, it wasn't an easy decision but I stuck with the 9994.

Nice!! I think the 70 is louder but there is just s sweet sound out of the sanyo. Hard to describe it is just such a pleasing sound.

Very wise choice.

No knock on the M9990, which is a nice box. But it's like comparing the Dodge Viper to the Dodge Charger (which is a good car).

Hi erniejade-I have the 9994!! I think it's amazing!!
I need a tuning knob and a couple of screws and a cover for my dial.
I have found the parts-I think but unfortunaltely I can't buy anything right now!
It will be all good-it works perfectly-just needs an antenna and a couple of things.
Thanks everyone-I'll test the 9994 after the 9935.
Have a great week-GB. :-) :surf:

Good review, Ghettoboom  , but maybe you can add a picture of the box you're reviewing.

If erniejade didn't post a picture of those 2 boxes, I wouldn't know what it looked like without having to search for it.

Thanks for the review, GhettoBoom. :-) The M9990 is an awesome sounding box, mine is an M9990L. In my opinion, it could do with AFC on the tuner though.
