Roman, I've learned a lot from you... like how to find unknown, well-used, German, mono boomboxes. So, here is this week's Vienna Sound boombox find: a Poppy CR-422. I'm so proud! And we don't even have flea markets in Detroit.

Well-used. Notice what looks like a cigarette burn over the Poppy name.

Look... German!

For Jens... the rear nameplate. It's a little faded and a little scratched (like me)... but it's things like this that give a boombox character, right? (They also make it affordable.)

Oh... and I almost forgot. This Poppy works!

About the damage:
Got this weekend an nice rare box, but the knobs are burned! :-O
The children had played with the fire at it... :annoyed:

Yes... maybe the burn on the Poppy is not from a cigarette. Maybe someone tried to set fire to it. Or used a blow torch on it. Anything is possible!

Please show us your rare box with the burned out knobs!

I'm curious about where you find it though.
No great story, unfortunately. Just another hidden, cheap eBay listing. It was under "radios," and the word "cassete" in the title was misspelled. I'm not even sure how I found it!

Other sad damage:

Got this old GOLDSTAR for free additional to another box (story soon).
Broken grip and....
look at the scale and the tapedoor!
Hot sun? Oven?.... :hmmm: :annoyed:

BTW: hard to imagine to live without fleas.... ;-)
