Whoa! :w00t: That's a cool looking box. I agree with Al regarding the looks too.

Did anybody else notice the rounded-square woofers? Is that the cutout area or are the speakers actually like that?

Thanks bill very nice of you, hope to see some "strange" models in your collection?
I hope to be uploading more pictures of my "off-brand" boxes for you guys to refresh the pupils!!! :w00t:

I'm gonna be going out to do some errands with the wife (woopty doo) hahaha, maybe I'll see something interesting, ya never know what you'll find... if I do see something I won't react to it, I'll just go back without the wifey... hehehe

Love the airplane field VU´s.

Cool styled baby! :-D

Tausend Dank! bro!!!

I'm learning already yeah! I didn't know they were called "airplane field" VU's... awesome name... I love it! :-P

Thank you for your comments on Aleia also! She helps me (believe it or not) to clean them when my boxes need a little dusting! ;-)

Heheheh  thanks alot Fatdog... I love my personal grail! It's way loud!!! On the back label says 48W is that alot?
It's "my baby" (after the real baby Aleia)...

It's the cutout area. The speakers are a pair of round 8" CM-800 Earthquake Woofers
(which were brought to me recently by my High School and very dear friend Mark who came to visit me in August).
The original speakers were dust already and had to throw them out... :'-(

welcome o`board and congrats to ths nice box.
thanks for sharing the pictures.!
This one is quite rare.
Never seen it branded RIVIERA .

It also appeared on the market as:

bestar-rr1500 IBBN 7-10988(autoreverse)
espace-l999 IBBN 7-07468 (no autoreverse)
lanico-l909 IBBN 7-03882 (no autoreverse)
lanico-l999 IBBN 7-02928(autoreverse)

other differences: some appeared with fake tweeters,
non autoreverse(high speed dubbing models) came with "turbo power" print,
the autoreverse units with "super woofer"print.
autorverse versions:counters right, others counters on the left sides.

Actually this models were produced by the LUCKY company,

Hey ElDorado Thanks so much for the comments on Baby Butterfly Aleia...
She's the heir-to-the-throne-boombox-collector-to-be... And she already picked "her" throne... the Riviera! Hahahaha... ;-)
Do you have any "strange" or "funky" looking boxes to show-and-tell?

WOW!!! Thanks alot Aiwa!!!! I really wanted to know more about my Riviera PST-1010 and you cleared things up so much!!! Cool...
Well, originally this one came with real tweeters but since I got the 8" Earthquakes with directional dome tweeters in the center I said what the heck, I'll take the other ones out... I did this very recently... so I still have to see if I wanna fill those holes again with some tweets! Any thoughts? Should I leave it like it is? Or put maybe some mids up there? :hmmm:

I think he's infringing on my "Babes and Boxes" copyright! :-P  Great pics and great box!

On a related note, I'm glad to see that it has a real 10-band EQ instead of a Yorx type 5-band (2 sliders per band made to look like a 10-band). Also, since it's made by the same people who make Lasonic, I wonder how it compares to the TRC-975 - not that I've ever heard either. Still, it looks to have the same physical dimensions and features... :hmmm:
