I just wanted to thank member "45 Player" Chris for getting my RX-C50 up and working 100% again as it had some bad stuff going on with it.  :annoyed:
I thought it would end up a parts box,but Chris bought it back from the brink.
A big thank you to you Chris !!!!!!! :smooch:   :-D

Thanks for the kind words! The 50 had two separate, unrelated problems- always fun when that happens :grim: The 1st thing was the power amp IC was blown- it uses the popular LA4505 (same as in the Sharp VZ-2500) WAY too much power for such a little turd! :w00t:
After that, it would go dead after a while- The only service manual I could find was on microfiche- so that was a trip to the library to use the reader. But the library discarded the fiche reader because everything is digital now (did-sh*t-al) so another library had one. I found they used a special muting circuit, and that was the problem- 2 bad capacitors and a transistor were bad. I will remember it the next time! If there *is* a next time!

Congrats Skippy! I too have an RX-C50 and am working on my RX-C60. I hpoe to have my C-60 squared away soon. (Weak left channel but the LA4505 is good.)
