Last night I had some time to open up my newest addition to the family, this little 3 piece Panasonic SG J800 turntable boombox. I had to do one minor repair and some minor clean up. Upon arrival, the small tab that keeps the turntable locked in the closed position had broken off and was rattling inside the main unit. After a little jiggle and shake action, I found the small plastic piece that I was looking for. This exact same thing happened to my other little Panasonic I bought a few months back, and I fixed it the same way. I used some clear Gorilla glue, set the piece back in place and let it set while I took the speakers apart and gave everything a good bath. It was actually pretty clean overall. Not too bad. I cleaned the heads on the cassette deck as well and put everything back together. It was a quickie. So this morning I tested the turntable lock and its all good! Works like a charm.
EVERYTHING is fully functional and actually sounds quite nice. No scratchy sliders at all on this one. Here's some pics of the finished product and the vinyl LP that the seller threw in for free. I love these little turntable boxes... CHEERS!
