Here is my new Sansui CP-7.
I got it and the tuner display was dead and the tuner presets and clock buttons didn't work and still don't.
But I was able to get a N.O.S. LED display from the Netherlands and now the display works.
Everything else works great and sounds great as well.
It has the original antenna and owners manuals too.
I'm amazed at how well the speakers sound.
The woofers are very high quality.
The deck and tuner are amazing too.
Especially the highs for the lack of tweeters.
The grills at the top enclose a small bass radiator.
It is very compact but heavy......

That's gorgeous! I'll have one some day, to pile on top of these two:

portable combos FTW!

(I have a pair of speakers for a CP-5 that I grabbed from eBay recently, they're useful for connecting to my B&O if I want to give it some extra clout, very similar to your CP-7 ones but the reflex port trim is slightly different:

They are amazing sounding wee things, I took these ones apart to fit better quality cabling to them and while I was in there, I added some decent wadding which really does wonders for their bass quality, even if I don't find the box to fit between them, I'll hold onto these as they sound so good.

Those look nice! What kind of passive is it? Foam surround? Have you checked to see if it's not rotting away, like the Aiwas do?

The (single in CP5s) drive units do indeed have foam surrounds but they seem durable since that pair that I have were used in a damp hut for years and are perfectly preserved, The baskets are deep and the magnets virtually as large in diameter as the edges of those baskets, all of that = believable bass when they're fed by something suitably competent.

Good luck with your search, if you find one before I do and need speakers for it, you know where I am.

Hi Reli,
It is just a small passive.
The surrounds are not like the Aiwa's surrounds, they are more of a rubbery type stuff.
Here are some pics.

Me too Joe,I had to desolder the display from the board and resolder the new display to the original board because there was some differences I was unaware of.
The display and circuit board I was sent was from a European model and mine is a U.S. model,so it wasn't a "plug and play" deal like I thought it was going to be.
So I used the new display on my original board, and it works now.
I still need some new memory buttons so it will be 100%.
But at least I can see what stations I'm tuning now.....
