I just bought my new glossy 931 from a college student in 'Bama. $120 :w00t: MIB

Not a bad deal to me. I am really surprised in the quality, the box is super sturdy and the sound is superb :surf: I was expecting it to be cobbled together and tinny but it feels very solid-like a boombox tank with 1/2 inch thick armor
Anyhow, i will post pics soon and I am thinking about picking some more up-Ipod compatibility is awesome as well :-)

I had one and it didn't quite feel like a tank, actually it was more feather like. To me, the reissue TRC 931 sounds and feels better. I do plan on getting another for my daughter to play her mp3's.

 Maybe you had a bad one. I have had a lot of boomboxes, and some were grails. My box feels like it is a single piece. No flex or rattles and it is a great looker. I agree the reissue sounds better but that's in the bass department. I wish it had a stereo mono feature to remove the static hiss on unclear stations though.

Another version of the 931 in 'Bama?!?!? :w00t: Who knew there were two? I have the other (much older version) apparently.

Maybe Lasonic has improved them a little since they first came out. :hmmm: Hopefully there will be one at the 2010 meet. I would love to hear one.

The i931 - for what it is - is alright. I played mine indoors a couple of nights ago and was reminded of the hollow bass... I had to put it back on the shelf. :-/ However, if you set it up correctly, take it outside and crank up the volume, it sounds pretty good.

I'm waiting for Lasonic to come out with a black on black version. If/when they do, I'll cop that to go with my white on white i931. If not, I'll cop another 1st edition i931... Still, none are better than a 1st edition TRC-931. :-P
