So, my eBay purchase has arrived from Canada, and it looks great! Much nicer than in the pictures I saw! I haven't had a chance to clean anything up yet, but hopefully this weekend I will. In the meantime, I've found that it powers up, and trying to fiddle with the Function switch will give me a little popping / crackling / static from the speakers. It doesn't actually allow me to select anything, though. And the knob pulls right off. Also, the band selector switch just spins forever and doesn't do anything.

So, that's where it's at for now. I'm guessing I've got some repairs in my future?

Looks in great nick! Yeh both selector switches are prone to breaking but are fixable. You can open the box and move the switches manually so you could move it to line in for example and leave it there. Will need contact cleaner if you’re getting crackling and popping.

The function switch has had the cog that breaks re engineered in metal by a member here so it’s totally fixable.

Yeah, I found the posts by Trommelmops. I'm going to hit him up for the gear fix!

I'm going to use this is a music video, and after I'm all done, that's when I will taking this apart for a thorough cleaning, and to get those switches all sorted out. I'm totally stoked!

Congrats on finding this beast! All those rotary switches on the Lasonics are notorious for breaking after many years. However, they can be fixed. :-)

I got it working! Line-in works!

This thing needs some contact cleaner REAL bad! Anyone have any suggestions on which type to buy? Do I just spray it in the pots and work the knobs like crazy?

Also, I think I have a dead tweeter. All the speakers work except the left tweeter. Anyone know when I will be eligible to use the for sale section and look for a replacement tweeter?

DeOxit is what almost all of us use. I pick mine up at Guitar Center since there is one a short drive away.

There is an FAQ regarding the For Sale section:

This is not my auction, but there is a single tweeter on eBay right now

Before you purchase, I would test the working tweeter on the other side. Just to make sure it's not the filter or the link to the tweeter. Maybe check all the connection points to the tweeter.

Can't go wrong with Lasonics. Great blasters with all the right curves in all the right places.

Check it out! I got it working and it totally rips!

One more switch to fix and it will be 100% functional again! All the speakers work now, the band selector switch is fixed, and all the pots and sliders are cleaned up and working great!
