Very nice! Another box saved. SUPER YAY!.

Just out of interest....Where did you get the add-on transformer from?

I am sure that owners of GF-919 / 999 / 1000 boomboxes would like to know, as 100v is an unusual voltage outside Japan, as most of the rest of the world runs on either 110-115 volts or 230-240 volts.

I noticed that your one said:-

INPUT.............. 240V, 50 Hz,
OUTPUT.......... 100V, 50Hz.

Great! The UK has 230-240 volts, and this transformer would work great here. Provided that this transformer can provide a good 60 W of current, then the big Japanese boxes ( like a GF-919 ) would run OK with this transformer.

Fatdog, I picked up a lot of cassettes recently, Kenny Rogers was well represented with 7 tapes, happy to send em to you for nix if you want em. :-D you know, for your mom. :-P Yes the 5700 sounds great, very warm.

BoomBoxDeluxe, I bought the transformer online from a mob called Tortech in Sydney, It's a 50 watt suitable for most boxes, but not really big ones I'd say. 'Twas next day delivery via express post (priority). I'm sure that there would be a manufacturer of these type of things in the UK, cost me about AU$70.00 delivered. They accept PayPal too which was a big plus for me.

redbenjoe, swap you for the Disco Lite?
